UIB training for NoFloods deployment

UIB Cadets Receive Training In Climate Resilience

Young members of the Emergency Preparedness (UIB) underwent rigorous training in climate resilience to confront the escalating challenges presented by extreme weather events like heavy rainfall, storms, storm surges, and flooding.

The cadets successfully completed their annual training program, centering on climate change and resilience, with support from Environment Solutions, providing vital equipment and barriers. The training, which incorporates WaterTubes (NoFloods PRO) and WaterGates (NoFloods FlexWall), has proven highly effective.

Several participants shared their thoughts on the training:

  1. “Working with watertubes and watergates was an incredibly positive experience. The instructions were clear and easily applicable to practical exercises, which was very rewarding. Working with new materials that we are not accustomed to was genuinely exciting.”
  2. “Exploring new materials not typically part of our station’s equipment was incredibly fun. I had no idea that these options existed. It was also physically demanding, emphasizing the importance of teamwork.”
  3. “It was an immensely educational experience, and I really enjoyed the training.”

Instructors and young members of the Emergency Preparedness (UIB) demonstrated exceptional dedication. Environment Solutions anticipates further support by providing equipment and contributing to similar initiatives next year, both domestically and internationally.
