NoFloods Barrier Protects Italian Data Center

The recent devastating floods in Northern Italy prompted swift action to protect Ravenna’s vital data center. The Municipality of Rubiera, aided by volunteers from the civil protection unit in Scandiano, deployed the NoFloods flood defence barrier to safeguard the Lepida Data Center from potential flood risks. This revolutionary barrier, filled with air and water, forms a formidable defence against rising waters, requiring minimal manpower and resources compared to traditional methods like sandbagging.

The NoFloods Twin Pro 125, deployed around the data center, demonstrated its efficiency by requiring only six people to install it in just four hours. In contrast, constructing a sandbag wall of similar length would have needed approximately 1,000 people and several days of hard labour. The innovative approach of the NoFloods barrier, utilizing water to fight water, proved highly effective in protecting the data center from the threat of flooding.

This streamlined deployment highlights the advantages of the NoFloods flood defence system, offering quick installation, scalability, and robust protection against floodwaters. The successful implementation in Ravenna underscores the potential of innovative flood defence solutions to mitigate the impact of extreme weather events and protect critical infrastructure.
